About Us

History of Our Industrial Training Institute

Our Industrial Training Institute was established in 2004 within the MPS campus in Andipatti, Theni District—a region often referred to as the "Land of Nature Lovers"—with the specific objective of promoting women's empowerment.

In 2007, our institute relocated to a new building equipped with modern amenities at S. Ranganathapuram, situated along the Andipatti-Theni road, where it continues to provide excellent vocational training.

The institute is situated in a lush, green environment rich in natural resources, surrounded by picturesque hill stations such as Munnar, Bodimettu, Kumily, Meghamalai, and Kodaikanal. The region is also abundant in water resources, featuring the Vaigai Dam and the Mullai Periyar Dam. Theni District stands as the second-largest market hub in Tamil Nadu, and its inhabitants are deeply passionate about agriculture. During the monsoon seasons, the region is graced by the gentle showers and refreshing breezes of the Southwestern and Northwestern Ghats.

The Committee

Our Industrial Training Institute is administered by an "Institute Management Committee" (IMC), operating under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and holding recognition from both the Central and State governments. The committee functions under the leadership of an administrative head drawn from the industrial sector, with the Principal of the training institute serving as the Secretary. Its membership comprises the Regional Director of Training, the District Employment Officer, and the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (who serve as special committee members), alongside proprietors of local industrial enterprises, professors from private colleges, and representatives from the institute's own instructors and trainees. Through the auspices of the Society, necessary infrastructure—including buildings, equipment, hand tools, and consumables required for practical workshops—is procured promptly, thereby enabling the delivery of high-quality training that aligns with the latest educational policies. This Committee is registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27, Section 13, Sub-section 1), bearing Registration No. 190/2008, dated September 8, 2008.

Objectives:

To impart new technical skills to rural and economically disadvantaged women.
To organize visits to private enterprises to create awareness regarding various industries and trades.
To facilitate short-term vocational training programs at leading industrial organizations.
To invite technical experts from premier institutions to conduct specialized training sessions.
To invite directors from private sector companies to provide necessary guidance on establishing new business ventures.
To invite the General Manager of the District Industries Centre to provide information and details required for starting a business.
To invite managers from public sector banks to provide information regarding the requirements for launching a business enterprise.
To invite technical experts to provide information and guidance regarding opportunities for higher studies.
